Port-Coton Needles, Belle Ile En Mer, Brittany, France. The most famous site, painted at many occasions by Claude Monet in 1886, is the site of Port-Coton needles. Monet was fascinated by these landscapes of the Wild Coast and described them as follows: "it is sinister, diabolical but superb and I do not think that I may find something like that elsewhere". Port-Coton owes its name because here the sea foams and swells up like a big cotton wool bag. At one end of this landscape the Needles loom up. This site must not be missed, specially in stormy weather! via 500px http://ift.tt/1p26hpO
