Lava shot from in the surf. Nick Selway and I are the only artist to ever shoot lava through the waves. The conditions for this are extremely rare. The first time we captured shots like this it was a five year wait for the proper conditions to enter the surf next to the lava. This shot was taken 3 years later. I hiked 5 miles crossed 2 active lava flows then scaled down a 40ft cliff just to enter the water at sunrise and capture on of my signature shots. Always trying to be unique no matter what it takes.
