Lenticular Sunset by BrianStrock

Looking for fall color appeared to be easy pulling into Paradise Park. The hill North of the Visitors Center was filled with fall color. Wanting a better composition for a sunset image, a hike with local guru, Ryan Dyar was in store for Mazama Ridge. The more we followed the trail, the more the color kept disappearing on us. Hoping things would approve, we continued to our final destination. On top of the ridge we were offered only small patches of color. But, as he sun continued to set, we both scoured the area looking for a patch of color to shove in front of our lens for some foreground. I ended up at this spot hoping the trees would help frame Mt. Rainier. As clouds continued to roll in this evening and the lenticular contining to build, our fears of walking away without out a image grew. I quickly started taking my images, and if we were treated later with a great sunset, all the better, but at least I would have something to show for the effort. Luckily this turned out, as the clouds continued to build obscuring the mountain and the terrific sunset we were hoping for never happened. This image was made from a 2 exposure blend with luminosity and hand blending, some dodge and burning and a couple for focus stacking. Like it, Love it, Share it, Friend me, Follow me,what ever it is that you do, but most of all just enjoy it. via 500px http://ift.tt/1tqM9T9
