On the last day of the Iceland trip in September we witnessed the most epic sky of the whole trip, while we were returning to the airport, in a hurry, after shooting in Vesturhorn. We weren't supposed to make any stops, or we could miss the flight, but the golden hour (I'd rather call it "epic hour") occurred right when we were passing by Jokulsarlon! (click on "More" to read the rest of the story) I only had 10 minutes to shoot, before the intense colours would disappear, and my tripod was buried inside my check-in bag. I had to shoot this scene handheld, and did the best I could. Fortunately, due to the sensor stabilization, I was able to do focused and sharp 1/10th second exposures. I cannot even imagine how incredible it must have been to the other photographers who had the time to be there and properly prepare their shooting session. Many people were photographing the scene and I could feel the adrenaline rush around me, as this was absolutely epic! Anyway, I can't complain, as at least I had the opportunity to be there when the light was at its best. It most certainly compensated the expensive speeding ticket I got, while I tried to arrive to Keflavik on time after doing this shot! via 500px http://ift.tt/1p729tC
