Twilight at Shiprock by Aric-Jaye

Twilight at Shiprock, New Mexico. I must admit that I am a sunrise/sunset chaser. Experiencing the moments around sunrise/sunset is like opening a wrapped gift. There is a time of anticipation and hope. You never know what you are going to get. Sometimes you open the gift and you are overcome with wonderment and smiles. Other times, it is just a graceful acknowledgement of the thoughtfulness of the gift giver. There is always a time of thanks; A gratefulness for the opportunity to witness and treasure the moment. This beautiful twilight was one of those "wonderment and smiles" and gratefulness moments Shiprock is a monadnock in Navajo Nation. It rises1583 feet above the high-desert plain and is 7177 ft above sea level. The Navajo name for the peak (Tse" Bit' a" i') "Rock with Wings" refers to the legend that a great bird brought the Navajo from the north to their present land. via 500px http://ift.tt/1vsFQio
