
While out exploring the Canadian Rockies during sunrise, I came across Bow Lake. When I was out walking around on the frozen lake, I saw these bubbles in the ice. I came to find out that these are actually pockets of methane gas that rise from decomposing animals and vegetation on the lake floor, and as they rise, they freeze in the ice.
