A carpet of White Dryas blooms stretching out towards the craggy peaks of Croda Sora i Colesei at sunset. This mountain likes to play hard to get. I spent three days pointing a camera at it, and it revealed itself to me one evening only for a few minutes. The rest of the time it remained cloaked in thick layers of clouds and mist, occasionally teasing me with partial glimpses before retreating back into the safety of its nebulous defenses. Perhaps it doesn’t realize that there are a lot of other mountains in the world, and I don’t *have* to wait around for *it*. At least it did finally give me the full monty, so maybe there is a future for us after all. While I have your attention, I would like to take this opportunity to alert anyone who may be interested in photographing the Dolomites that I have a workshop announcement coming soon. Stay tuned for exact dates and details on a summer Dolomites workshop with me and co-leader Enrico Fossati.
