Room of Pain by f-alamia

The former psychiatric hospital Joseph Antonini , known as the asylum of Mombello Limbiate , in the province of Monza and Brianza , is in a state of decay and neglect , but during the twentieth century was the largest psychiatric hospital in Italy and hosted thousands of people. It is located within the huge villa complex Pusterla - Crivelli , approximately one million square meters of pavilions and gardens enclosed by a wall six feet high . The villa was built in the fourteenth century by the noble family of Lombardy Pusterla - most likely in a mediaeval building even older - then passed to Arconatis and finally to Crivelli , in 1718. In 1754 Stefano Gaetano Crivelli transformed it into a beautiful and luxurious villa , that the time was home to the Bourbon Ferdinand IV , King of the Two Sicilies , and became the headquarters of Napoleon Bonaparte in the Italian campaign . In the early nineteenth century was abandoned and then purchased by the City of Milan, in 1863, renovated it and turned it into a psychiatric hospital. via 500px http://ift.tt/1tN9Pjn
