Seems to be a perennial favourite image for a lot of people and has become a bit of a signature image for me. A simple shot of a conifer (I think it's a Hemlock) growing out of a log in the middle of Fairy Lake. I came across this tree several years ago on a trip around Vancouver Island. The Fairy Lake conifer is well known to the locals of the area. It will be interesting to see how many more years this little tree survives. via 500px http://ift.tt/1zqQpnY
