Snow Panther - Panther Creek Falls, WA Merry Christmas everyone! I've been working like mad lately and haven't had nearly enough time to shoot or edit photos. It was nice to have some uninterrupted time this morning the finish this one off. This is from the snow storm this past November. This is an amazing location year-round, but these conditions made this a truly spectacular sight. The road to these falls was nice and icy, but we took our time and slowly made our way to this location deep within the Washington forest. The hike down to the lower section of the falls is steep and requires a scramble down a couple of rocks. Normally not too difficult, the ice made it a challenge. I had an extra bag with me with extra winter gear and tossed it down from the rock so I could climb down the rock without it. Gravity and the icy conditions took care of the rest and rolled my bag almost entirely way down the hill. It took me a few minutes to locate it. It had almost rolled all the way off the edge of an inaccessible area of the cliff. That would have made for an expensive mistake. After a couple more slip and slides, we made it down to the lower section of the falls and had some fine exploring various comps within the bone-chilling water. At one point Terence was complaining that he couldn't feel his toes and Andrew was somewhere almost chest deep getting crushed by the spray of the falls.
