This is a pretty typical composition of Sparks Lake. I remember getting there early before the first hint of light started to appear because I wanted to explore a bit and come up with a unique comp. But having slept in my Jeep and been coffee-less that morning, I forked left at the trail-head instead of right to go to the lake front. I probably wandered sleepily for a good 1/4 mile before realizing something wasn't right.. By the time I backtracked back onto the right trail, The light was peaking and I didn't have time to come up with much. I was really kicking myself then because after all the times I've come here, this was the first time there was actually some color in the skies... There's always next time.
