I never knew the vastly different landscapes of Oregon until I saw it for myself. Just a short 8+ hour drive from Portland (where lush greens and waterfalls prevail) is the Alvord Desert. Last October, I set out with some friends and we camped out there for a couple of days. Our tent was literally a hundred yards from this very spot which made shooting sunset (with a nice cold hoppy beverage in hand no less) super simple.
