Wharariki Dawn - not many sunrise shots are seen from this gorgeous wild and remote West coast beach. Myself and Timothy Poulton decided to stay overnight despite the howling winds. Stoked after a fantastic sunset at Wharariki beach we celebrated in true OOAK style with a late night and lots of beer, partying it up with a group of German tourists on a several month long tour. 1am came and they didnt believe us about shooting at 4:30am. By sunrise at 6am they had walked the half hour to the beach to see if we had made it, bringing their cameras for a little impromptu photography workshop. We helped them out and also managed a few little shots ourselves! One of the best sunrises I have seen in a long time, fantastic light, great company and a spectacular location, what could be better!
