This image of the iconic Bonsai Rock in Lake Tahoe was taken on a windy, dark and gloomy evening recently. I used a long exposure to soften the choppy water and the stormy sky. I attempted to highlight the contrast between the rough and rugged granite boulders with the smooth water and sky. I was also conscious of the leading lines in the clouds and among the rocks as they pointed toward Bonsai Rock. As darkness approached, I think this photo really captured the mood of the moment.
