The 26th of December I headed to the cabin lake in order to practice night shooting - a project I had begun a couple of weeks prior to this. I had no idea what was going on before I checked my first capture in camera....and I couldn't believe my own eyes...and I made some sounds of various quality and shed a few high quality tears...I grew up in the north of Norway and have probably seen the northern lights as a kid, but I do not remember....so in a sense this was my first encounter with auroras. A huge thanks to David Thompson for reviewing the image and for suggesting a few improvements, notably how to increase the color separation in the sky.
