You're looking at the 90 meter waterfall Huldefossen, located in western Norway. According to Norwegian folklore, a highly seductive supernatural female creature, called Huldra, can sometimes be seen bathing here. Huldra is a forest spirit that can shape-shift into a young blonde beauty, who during late summer nights will lure men in to a very uncertain destiny. Then, without notice -- boom -- I'm hunkered over my camera protecting it from a wave splash. Suddenly I'm ankle deep in water! Then -- boom -- another wave. Now I'm knee deep in water! WTF, ocean! I was totally about to slip... Anyway, as soon as the water was receding, I regained my balance. Just imagine a skilled ninja for this next part: I twisted my body around, and looking backwards, terrible technique and all, I snapped a few lucky shots as this beast exploded over the ocean. I just got back from a trip to Yosemite with a group of great folks from Palomar College in San Marcos, Ca. ( Thanks to everyone for the great company and inspiration ) One night after a long day of shooting, I dragged my tired bones up to the famous tunnel view to see how it looked under the stars. All alone under the beautiful night sky, I was able to capture a couple of nice shots while being serenaded by a local coral group of coyotes.
