Teddy Bear by jpbwright
These 5 month old European Brown Bear cub's were incredibly skittish and would run up a tree or back into the forest at the slightest odd movement or sound. Over the course of 4 days I grew closer to this family of bears and they look to be doing well. They'll be more to follow. via 500px http://ift.tt/1iXcorD

Hello there... by pjkrebs
The Iberian wolf’s name derives from its once prominent presence on the Iberian Peninsula. He was threatened with extinction in the 1970s before conservation measures were introduced, and only about 500 or fewer remained. They were hunted because they were considered pests. The population bounced back and remains at about 2,500, but its territory is not as widespread as it once was.

Manchurian by brookshawphotography
Manchurian, the male Amur Leopard at the WHF (Wildlife Heritage Foundation) Big Cat Sanctuary in Kent, UK, is one feisty cat! Love his blue eyes too! This is a great place to visit as you can get very close to a large collection of cats. Your visit also helps fund their conservation efforts too. If you like animal photos I've also created a dedicated Facebook page for Chester Zoo photography: http://ift.tt/H6WQFM via 500px http://ift.tt/1oRxsqp

Alert by cfischerphoto
The first attempt didn't work. I had crawled out the side of the car, and as soon as they saw me, the retreated a ways . . . our profile is just too pronounced to them. And they don't like it. I climbed back in the car, anxious to give this another go around. I was trying to get an eye level shot with them, shooting just over the grass. The plan this time was to circle them again. Drop me off on the back side of the car and let me lay down before the car moved. Hopefully they wouldn't see me as quickly. you can read the rest of the story at : http://ift.tt/1sCFEbu via 500px http://ift.tt/1lKGguX
