A thirty minute easy hike brings you to one of the famous lakes in Aoraki Mt. Cook National Park - Tasman Lake. Formed from the retreat of the New Zealand's Tasman Glacier. It is said that since more of the glacier is now in contact with the water, the lake is expected to grow to a maximum length of 16KM within the next one or two decades. Last 2008, it was only 7KM long. Huge snow capped mountains that surrounds the glacier are a part of Mount Cook National Park, tourists can rent/book tour boats to go near the icebergs on the lake. If lucky, one can find glacier ice floating along it's shores. Shot during the sunset of late winter 2013, positioned low enough to get a different kind of perspective. via 500px http://ift.tt/TCviys
