Purakaunui Falls New Zealand This spot is about 5 minutes upstream from Purakaunui falls. I thought I'd take a dip but the water was deceptively deep getting here lol. The falls walk reminds me alot of the walk to Liffey falls in Tasmania and the falls themselves are quite comparable. It's almost like a piece of New Zealand and Tassie replicated themselves a few thousand kilometers apart. [Deviant Art Gallery] [Facebook] [Web Gallery] [Flickr] [G+] via 500px http://ift.tt/1ksWVnn

Breaking Bounderies by PatrickMarsonOng
I am not a fan of blending nor combining two images in one as I have been taught to get it right from the click of the shutter. But I always wanted to shoot a startrail plus a properly balanced exposure and color of the foreground, without the intense blue casts, dark areas and light painted structures. I came across an amazing online tutorial that teaches the art of digital blending. So as an experiment, I dug through my old lake tekapo shots from my first visit. Spring time lupines!! Trying out my skills in photoshop, two images, one was taken after the sun has set from the horizon for my foreground and blended it with a 70 image star stacked sky taken 3 hours after... Cheers!! via 500px http://ift.tt/1nA84Gd

Worm's Eye View by PatrickMarsonOng
A thirty minute easy hike brings you to one of the famous lakes in Aoraki Mt. Cook National Park - Tasman Lake. Formed from the retreat of the New Zealand's Tasman Glacier. It is said that since more of the glacier is now in contact with the water, the lake is expected to grow to a maximum length of 16KM within the next one or two decades. Last 2008, it was only 7KM long. Huge snow capped mountains that surrounds the glacier are a part of Mount Cook National Park, tourists can rent/book tour boats to go near the icebergs on the lake. If lucky, one can find glacier ice floating along it's shores. Shot during the sunset of late winter 2013, positioned low enough to get a different kind of perspective. via 500px http://ift.tt/TCviys
Wanaka Twilight by yanzhang
This image was taken in Wanaka Lake in a late afternoon when the dusk was falling rapidly, while lights from the town provided some interesting backdrops. via 500px http://ift.tt/1t1yFJA
Arriquitawn by javierbravo
Shot in the road from Lake Wanaka to Arrowtown. Arrowtown, from now on Arriquitawn, is probably one of the most beautiful and charismatic villages in New Zealand. Historically, this is a gold mining region. If you happen to be here and try to dig to find some yellowish minerals the only gold you will get is this view. Fair enough. via 500px http://ift.tt/1gnyHuH

Valley of Illusions by PatrickMarsonOng
Sharing my first visit to New Zealand spring of 2012. First time ever to see a country with such amazing landscapes like this, hiking for a sunrise shoot at an hour and a half through hanging bridges, howling winds, luscious greens and huge snow capped mountains was my best experience ever. Hooker valley track, one of the most popular walks in the park, it ends at the glacier lake where the most amazing view of Aoraki Mount Cook awaits! Cheers!! via 500px http://ift.tt/1t1K2mE

The Colony by christianlim
A vertical orientation of the starfish colony on motukiekie, there were more than 8 photographers during our first visit so I had to move to a position no one wanted to shoot, my tripod and legs spread eagled with the water rushing between my legs, a bit painful due to the distance of the spread. (Now I can say that I am very very thankful that I go to the gym). Had to be very smart in choosing my spots on this trip as I have made quite a few stops on all these locations.... wanted really get some vantages that would fit nicely into the collection. via 500px http://ift.tt/1nSHlkX
Her Majesty by christianlim
i still consider sunrise to be the best time to take photos of mt cook even if it does not get direct alpen glow from this side of her vantage points. Nonetheless, this is the first time I took a shot from the river during sunset, was at the glacier during my first trip in 2011 and in between 3 trips was always hunting for sunrise light. Still quite stunning too see, this one taken after I had plunged 500 dollars worth of filters into the river, had to fish them out from the cold glacial water. via 500px http://ift.tt/1qyE8eS

Sunrise lakes by JuanvandenBerg
Sunrise at Nelson Lakes National Park with a heavy frost. The jetty was covered in ice which made the placing of tripod interesting with expensive gear and not to mention how my hands froze over. via 500px http://ift.tt/1g6tGaf
