The Colony by christianlim

A vertical orientation of the starfish colony on motukiekie, there were more than 8 photographers during our first visit so I had to move to a position no one wanted to shoot, my tripod and legs spread eagled with the water rushing between my legs, a bit painful due to the distance of the spread. (Now I can say that I am very very thankful that I go to the gym). Had to be very smart in choosing my spots on this trip as I have made quite a few stops on all these locations.... wanted really get some vantages that would fit nicely into the collection. via 500px http://ift.tt/1nSHlkX

Her Majesty by christianlim

i still consider sunrise to be the best time to take photos of mt cook even if it does not get direct alpen glow from this side of her vantage points. Nonetheless, this is the first time I took a shot from the river during sunset, was at the glacier during my first trip in 2011 and in between 3 trips was always hunting for sunrise light. Still quite stunning too see, this one taken after I had plunged 500 dollars worth of filters into the river, had to fish them out from the cold glacial water. via 500px http://ift.tt/1qyE8eS

The Eminence by christianlim

NZ's most photographed tree, overnight a high pushed through from the west making the nights and mornings cloudless for a couple of days. I was waiting for the leaves of the tree to turn yellow, it was a great golden hour for autumn colors but this one sticks to my head the most with just the right amount of shadows and sunrise color. The reflection was not that perfect so I did not wreck my brain to shoot it, instead grabbed some leaves from the trees at the shoreline to make this scene a bit different. via 500px http://ift.tt/1g6KKNl

Uncertainty by christianlim

This one was wierd, it was overcast and we didn't know if she was gonna show or not... but in NZ anything is possible, a scouting morning hike that turned into a couple of frames shot, here is a moody Lake Matheson from Fox Glacier, South Island. Im still not over getting cancelled from a 1 hour aerial photography trip so I guess I'll have to make a winter trip. via 500px http://ift.tt/1kGheK1

Milford Swirls by christianlim

only one chance for a good sunset in milford sound so I had to do a return 582 km drive to catch this one, thought of doing a different kind of FG effect via the rising tide swirls as in this one as i kept the reflections unbothered by the all the other solid elements on the water. via 500px http://ift.tt/1uihjeK
