Hello there... by pjkrebs

The Iberian wolf’s name derives from its once prominent presence on the Iberian Peninsula. He was threatened with extinction in the 1970s before conservation measures were introduced, and only about 500 or fewer remained. They were hunted because they were considered pests. The population bounced back and remains at about 2,500, but its territory is not as widespread as it once was.

This is another shot of our Iceland series, showing the Fjaðrárgljúfur. Fjaðrárgljúfur is a canyon in south east Iceland which is up to 100 m deep and about 2 kilometres long, with the Fjaðrá river flowing through it. It is located near the Ring Road, not far from the village of Kirkjubæjarklaustur. via 500px http://ift.tt/1jIjQpL

I am in complete love with forests, unfortunately where I live at the moment, nature is kind of limited around me. This spring for the first time I had my chance to photograph a forest at sunset, being there and hearing the birds, watching the rays slowly move down, was magical! via 500px http://ift.tt/TZPIlf

Breaking Bounderies by PatrickMarsonOng

I am not a fan of blending nor combining two images in one as I have been taught to get it right from the click of the shutter. But I always wanted to shoot a startrail plus a properly balanced exposure and color of the foreground, without the intense blue casts, dark areas and light painted structures. I came across an amazing online tutorial that teaches the art of digital blending. So as an experiment, I dug through my old lake tekapo shots from my first visit. Spring time lupines!! Trying out my skills in photoshop, two images, one was taken after the sun has set from the horizon for my foreground and blended it with a 70 image star stacked sky taken 3 hours after... Cheers!! via 500px http://ift.tt/1nA84Gd

R.I.P. Kisoro by eligodesign

Gorilla Kisoro died few days ago from echinococcosis he suffered from for couple of years. He was 25. Few months ago, when I took pictures of gorillas, his photos were the best and I had chosen this one for my online galleries with the title "Silverback". This image was well rated here on 500px. At the time I took the photos I didn´t know that he was ill and I was sad to read that he died. via 500px http://ift.tt/RK15vn

The Remains of the Day by nevadax1

A sunset at Lake Tahoe Nevada on a peaceful evening. I feel very fortunate to live near Lake Tahoe and enjoy the crystal clear waters and beautiful mountains on a regular basis. The granite boulders were my only companions on this day and it was a pleasure to behold. I hope you like it too. via 500px http://ift.tt/1hljIm1

Delicate Discovery by Shainblum

VIEW ON BLACK "Delicate Discovery" One of the many images from my night at Delicate Arch in Arches National Park. It was an interesting shooting experience for me. Most of the time when I shoot the Milky Way I am alone or with one other person, we usually do not run into any other photographers during the night. At Delicate Toby and I shared the space with over 15 other photographers who all wanted a turn to "light paint" the arch. It made it had for me, as I usually shoot with only ambient light. If I need more light in the foreground I will usually try to do long 2-5 minute exposures. Overall it was a really great experience, the wait for the spot to be empty was incredibly worth it! A Eurasion Eagle Owl during another of the flying displays at the Hawk Conservancy Trust. Mount Baker, some blooms of Heather, and a sunset. Nothing ground breaking here... But a fun evening shooting in the mountains with my girlfriend. I've got a very big workshop announcement coming up soon... so if you're the Aurora shooting type, stay tuned for that. It's looking to be an epic trip! I recently released a tutorial video that covers some of the techniques I use in my processing (ones that were used in the making of this image). I also lead in-field workshops, teach processing online via Skype screen sharing, and blah blah blah... check it all out at http://ift.tt/HjSx9r via 500px http://ift.tt/1nLOS65
