Hi There! by JayCaps

It's been a while since my last post because I am still on vacation mode :) I hope to get back next week and start posting again. Until then, I just want to say hi to everybody and hope you all have a great day! ;) About this image: This long legged fly is hard to capture. They are faster than my flash, they fly as soon as the flash triggers :) I guess this one is either napping or resting when I shot it. I took several shots of this guy and selected 3 (usable) images and stacked them in PS. One image was focused on the hairs above the head, one is focused on the eyes, and the other one is focused on the legs. I didn't have focusing rail so they were all just successive shots while I'm changing the focus area hand holding the camera. This is my first attempt to do photo stacking and I have yet to learn this technique :) If you like my work, you are welcome to join me on Facebook and/or Flickr ;) FB: http://ift.tt/1g49Bu9 Flickr: http://ift.tt/1qeiOuQ via 500px http://ift.tt/1m1LAYP

Second home by olschwartz

Today I would like to show you something a little bit different than my usual work. I wanted to share this because this is quite a special photo for me. This spot is closed from my future wife's home town. She comes from west of France and I come from the east. In her small town, there is no crazy architecture stuff but only the beauty of the simple nature. And it's good something to take the time and enjoy this peaceful land. To forget for some minutes the cities and have a break. Her home town is now became a second for me. If you want to have a look to my fresh new website : http://ift.tt/1AE6NBH Thank you for your visit, I'll do my best to reply and visit your pages in return :) if you like my work, you can also follow me on facebook : http://ift.tt/1fnnS4F via 500px http://ift.tt/1AE6NBF

Man vs Mountain by vinayakadkoli

A tiny rider drives past the expanse of the famed Pangong Tso lake. Vastness is a word that has no meaning in Ladakh. Stretches of mountain never seem to end. They just adapt to a different color and shade every time the eyes attempt to trace them via 500px http://ift.tt/1oRIJqc

Sentinel of Time by EdwinMartinez

THE SENTINEL OF TIME | July 2014 Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest, located in White Mountain in INYO forest in California is home of the most unique and oldest living non-clonal organism in the state. Reaching this place took a drive upwards to almost 12,000ft above sea level. Our group from a photo safari lined up after sunset to capture the Milky Way and it's appearance with one of the most unique tree formation we found. Despite the danger falling off a 10 feet cliff with jagged rocks, this was the most memorable time for the group as we scrounge and bite of other's ass to get the shot. Laughs and memorable moments. via 500px http://ift.tt/1rN5jPJ

Stairway to heaven by JeromeObiols

Please view on black. This is the milky way above the Mont-Blanc and its glaciers. It's a very special picture for me since I dreamed of of since since 3 years when I discovered this point of view with this cruved glacier below Mont-Blanc. 5h of hiking/climbing and 1000m denivelation were necessary to get there. I almost didn't sleep at all on the evening and got up at 0:30 am for shooting. Hopefully the weather was with me with a beautiful starry night and just some clouds on the Mont-Blanc. I will remember that night for a long time. Technically speaking, this is a composite of 6 frames. 2 identical frames with 2 different exposures (40s for the ground and 13s for teh sky) were blended together and the resulting image was stitched with 5 other frames exposed at 13s to get the vertical panorama. Selfoss by RyanBuchanan

Just upriver from Dettifoss lies the lesser known falls—Selfoss. The walk up to this point is absolutely incredible with walls of falls the entire way up. From what I hear, many people don't even venture the short hike up river which is hard to believe. This whole area is like walking on another planet. This particular shot was made at midnight in incredibly windy, cold conditions. I literally had to block with wind with my body while holding the tripod down with my body weight right on the edge of the falls. Luckily, this was one of the few sharper shots. I like the warm sunlight on the falls and the rocky edge with the reflective pool. If the conditions wouldn't have been so brutal I could've spent hours here with the falls, rocks and reflective pools all around. Jökulsárlón Wildflowers by scottsmorra

Twilight glow and wild thyme (Blóðberg) wildflowers at the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon in southeastern Iceland. This is an image from my trip to Iceland last summer. We visited many different places on the island, and Jökulsárlón was one of my favorite areas. It's definitely one of those places where you just have to stand still for a few minutes and soak it all in. If you ever have a chance to visit, make sure you do one of the Zodiac boat tours. It is amazing to see those icebergs up close. Thanks for any comments you have. I really appreciate it Visit My Website/Blog Follow me on Google+ Follow me on Twitter via 500px http://ift.tt/1odU8eK
