Tatahatso Morning by MarkMetternich

After over a month (actually almost the entire Spring and Summer) continuously on the road leading back to back workshops, I am finally home for a short break! I have, by far, the largest backlog of work I have ever had to process and decided to show this one first. This is Tatahatso Point on the Grand Canyon proper, and a very special place that I had been skunked 8 times in a row with no clouds. The size and scale of the place is very hard to comprehend in photos! It is about a mile wide and deep! And one of the very best places on the Grand Canyon to camp in the remote and see the Milky Way at night. Make sure you get a Navajo permit! Last week, on the last day of my "Ultimate Southwest Workshop" I spontaneously decided to give the group an extra FREE day by going to this location to end a very successful tour with a bang. I checked all the weather reports and although they predicted clear skies, I knew by experience that sometimes (especially in the monsoon season) the skies tend to make their own weather. The clients who remained on the workshop (we suffered 3 tire blow outs to get here) were treated to both a nice sunset with the moon right down the middle, as well as morning soft light and awesome surreal dappled pink clouds across the entire horizon. We shot side by side with a huge smile on our faces, and a great sense of satisfaction after all the travel and work. A great way to end a great time with great friends, with a bang! My clients gave me raving reviews (check my website) and I left the SW (I'll be back soon) very happy. As always, I share my processing techniques on my Photoshop Video Tutorials as well as teach them via Skype (screen sharing). See WildForLight.com for more information. Next years (2015) Ultimate SW Tour is already almost booked up! I will likely have a second one based on demand. Thank you for looking! :) via 500px http://ift.tt/1lOZDqk
