Vermillion Mirror by JaredWarren

[best viewed on black!] This is from the ever-fascinating White Pocket area, Vermillion Cliffs National Monument, Arizona, USA, Planet Earth (with view toward center of Milky Way galaxy). I hadn't planned to do any astrophotography on this night, but I was disgruntled at not getting anything good at sunset because the cool clouds I watched all day had fizzled out. So I stayed and took an exposure of the terrain after the light had dimmed down about a half-hour or so after sunset. I left my camera and tripod at the spot, went back to my truck for a late dinner and some reading, and walked back a couple hours later for the star exposure (then blended the two images together). I only got a few night exposures before a cloud bank came in and obscured the stars. Thanks for looking, and I'd love to have you follow me here and on FACEBOOK. via 500px http://ift.tt/1rbP4Ke
